  • Hi – I have read that DCI is a good treatment for type 2 diabetes. I have a mild case of type 2 and am not liking using Metformin because of the side effects. So is DCI a good treatment and what dosage should I be taking? I have been told I have insulin resistance, in my youth I used to miss periods and I found it took a long time to get pregnant the first time. I put on weight very easily and in later life, after many diets, I am finding it almost impossible to lose it. From what I am reading, it sounds like these things are connected and the key is DCI.
    Thanks for advice

I am interested in purchasing your product. I am confused as to how to purchase it. I am interested in a 3 month supply. I’d like to take it two or three times a day so that it adds up to 1200 mg. Is that possible? Can you help me to identify what it is I’m to buy? Thank you

    Thank you for your enquiry.

What I sell is 100% pure DCI powder. Not in capsules, just with a little scoop which measures out 100mg at a time. If you want to take 1200mg a day for 90 days you will need to buy 108 grams. I have a special at the moment giving a 10% discount for 3 x 36 g packets which, conveniently is 108 grams. Exactly what you need.

If you would like to proceed with the order, visit and select the 108 gram option. Please note that the first section is for Australian orders, but if you are in a country other than Australia, scroll down a little farther and there will be another section for international orders.

Please let me know if I can help you any further.

Wow, I have to say THANKYOU for this website!!! As i sit here wipping my tears and feeling there is hope for my husband and i to have a baby.

My story might be long but i guess i need to tell it all so i can get the best help!!

I have had a struggle since the age of 15 ( when the change happened) i was alway the skiining minnie and i just got huge over night! my mother had me to the doctors and they all put it down to my eating…yes i love sweets and still do but i was a swimmer so always very active, so they just put it down to eating wrong and wiped there hands.

In 2008 i knew that there was something more i was still large ( 112kgs) and my periods were never insink. I would have a very painful black period and that was it! i went to the doctors and had test and i was diognosed with PCOS, from then i was told to loose wait the gynecologist told me to excercise more eat healthy ( i was over weight, too fat he said) and when we wanted to get pregant to come back and he would give me a tablet.( HA saying it as if he was the baby fairy!)

So since then i have been dealing with depression and anxiety attacks and the baby was put on the back burning untill this year.

I have a huge wake up call and tryed to commit suicide, life was just getting to hard and i wanted better life for my husband and family. Wow well that did the trick i knew then that this was my second chance at life! so i signed up at the gym and was going for 6 months and only lost 8kgs i know that was good but i was 108kgs and i thought it would be more eating clean and exercising i needed help.

I went to a new GP once again i told him my problems and what had happened and he put me onto metermine for 3months well the lowest i got was 98.6kgs i have been off them a few months but im platueing i move from 89-92 kgs. Its always the same with docotrs you need to loose weight but when u do everything u can its just not that easy!

My friend does Herbalife so i started doing that but after 6 weeks not much has happened.
What do u suggest i do from here. My friend has a science degree so she is trying to look up and study pcos too. My hair does not grow my nails are brittle and i just dont know!!

The herbal pills im taking are
    Cell Activator
    Tang Kuei
    Chitosan Fibre Complex
    All made by Herbalife.

I wanted to know do i still keep taking these if i started DCI??

I guess i feel like my head is in such a clear space and im ready for the next chapter, Oh and did i mention to make things a little harder my husband is a Fly in -fly out worker so he is home every 2nd week!

I hope you dont think im a fruit cake just need help from someone who knows and understands PCOS.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Dear Alicia,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Having PCOS makes for a difficult path, but you are doing really well, whether it feels like it some days or not. Losing that much weight, in such a relatively short time period is a real achievement and you should be very proud of yourself. Having PCOS makes losing weight difficult, and the heavier you are, the harder it is. You must have been so dedicated to your exercise and eating plan!

Many women with PCOS find that they struggle with depression. It’s not easy dealing with some of the symptoms of PCOS: infertility, obesity, lethargy, hair growth where you don’t want it and hair loss where you do want it! It’s enough to make anyone depressed on occasion, so please don’t feel that you are any less able to cope with life than anyone else. You just have more challenges than most. Lifeline provide an excellent telephone counselling service, and you can call them anytime on 13 11 14 if you ever feel like you need to talk to someone. You can also chat online with them here.

DCI can provide the ‘missing key’ for a lot of women with PCOS who are struggling to lose weight. I had been gaining about 5 kg a year despite a healthy diet and plenty of exercise, before I found DCI. Within the first three months I lost 7 kgs and I haven’t put weight on since, just slowly losing more.

I have reviewed the Herbalife products you mention and do not believe that any of them contain anything which would be of any particular value to you, that you could not obtain elsewhere for a more economical price.

I don’t recommend any particular brand of supplement, however, a multivitamin is usually a good idea for most people. Most women with PCOS also benefit from taking vitex agnus castus, a herb which helps to regulate female hormones. 80% of women with PCOS are deficient in vitamin D, so it would be worth having your GP do a blood test for 25-hydroxyvitamin-D and if you are deficient, taking a supplemental amount of vitamin D, titrated to address your deficiency, and checked for accuracy with follow-up blood tests each month until your level is normal.

DCI is an effective treatment for most cases of PCOS in isolation, however, if you want to investigate other options which may also help, you might find the Natural Treatments for PCOS page a good place to start. DCI is not known to negatively interact with any natural or pharmaceutical substance, bearing in mind that it has a physiological effect on blood sugar metabolism and if you are taking other substances which also affect blood sugar metabolism, the effects may be magnified.

I sympathise with your ‘part-time relationship’, I have a similar situation myself. If pregnancy is your goal, understanding your fertility cycle so that, when possible, you can get the timing of intercourse spot on, is very important. I would recommend, if you are not already doing so, charting your basal body temperature each morning, and learning about the Natural Fertility Method, i.e. the signs and symptoms your body experiences at different times of your cycle so that you are more familiar with it and can better judge when to time intercourse. If you have a smartphone, I recommend a fantastic little app called OvuView, which I use myself.

If you have any more questions, please let me know. I’m here to help.

    Kind regards and best wishes,

Yikes… I just read up on Metermine, it sounds horrible!

Please visit my blog, I will be posting info shortly on the supplements and eating regimen I have just started. The supplements were specifically chosen to help combat some of the worst PCOS symptoms.

Also have a look at, it ISN’T a diet and you don’t have to restrict calories.
